The trap man larsen centre decoy trap is an effective way of catching magpies and other corvids, the trap has 2 catching compartment one at either side of the trap and a large decoy compartment in the centre
The trap is made from heavy gauge 1” x 1” wire mesh and electro plated after manufacture for a long lasting hard wearing finish, the springs on the cage are a heavy duty spring steel made in the UK.
The trap works best with a live decoy bird being placed in the large decoy compartment of the trap to attract the other magpies in the area to it.

Springs are well made and it comes with plenty of parts to comply with animal welfare legislation. (Add a water bowl/bottle and you’re good to go.

I’ve just built up 4 of your Larsen’s, fantastic quality. The only mods I made were clipping it together and making my own triggers so I didn’t lose them. What are the black shelters made of ? My laird specifies full top shelters and I quite like that stuff you are using.

Easy to assemble with good guidance notes. It is a sturdy trap, and all I need now is a magpie to enter the centre trap. The canny birds arrive in a group of 4, have a stab at the fatballs on the birdtable, but ignore the tasty stuff I have left in the trap. Guess I will have to wait for colder weather, but with the sun getting closer and warming the planet as it is, it might be a long wait.
