How to fit bait cable to fox trap

Take free cable loop and position over clip (looks like a large paper clip) on the end of the solid bait bar

hold cable with one hand and solid setting bar with other hand, then pull in opposite directions until the cable latches as picture below

Thread hook end through treadplate to take up the free play in the cable

If using the tread plate dig a small fist size hole in the ground and put the bait in the hole, then place the trap over the hole, the hole being directly under the trap directly under the treadplate.

If using the bait wire, use a fist size piece of bait in an old sock, wrap the bait wire around the sock/bait until all the free play is taken up, then place the hook back around the cable to secure, the wrapped bait should now be hanging from the wire approximately four inches from the top of the cage

Lift the door leaving two mesh holes showing below the top horizontal bar, push the setting bar through to set the trap
