Attention! It is believed that Squirrel Pox had resurfaced in our local area. It can be a devastating disease for Red Squirrels. Wildlife Trusts across the North West have been working for years to prevent the extinction of Red Squirrels with the increase in Grey squirrels having a major effect on the decline. Grey squirrels can be carriers of Squirrel Pox without it effecting them. In order to keep the spread of the disease under control it is important to limit high contact areas.
